The United Kingdom (UK) is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 68% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, with a long-term goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 in alignment with the Paris Agreement. A significant part of the UK’s climate strategy involves improving energy efficiency across its government and commercial buildings, which are major contributors to the nation’s energy consumption and carbon emissions.

However, the UK faces challenges such as outdated infrastructure and financial constraints that limit the widespread adoption of energy-efficient technologies.
